Your
Friendly Hosts: Don and Judy (and little dog Buddy)
Niagara-on-the-Lake
(or NOTL as the locals like to call it) is located at the mouth of the
mighty Niagara River that flows into Lake Ontario, is about 17 Km or
12 miles from the spectacular Niagara Falls. NOTL, which was named the
"Prettiest Town in Canada," is the home of the Shaw Festival,
celebrating the works of playwright George Bernard Shaw.
Our
completely renovated 50 year old home - your "home away from home"
- features your choice of 3 bedrooms. Situated within easy walking distance
from Queen St and the three Shaw theatres, we have the perfect location,
two blocks from the Pillar and Post Hotel (where you can book your spa)
and three blocks from Peller Estates Winery. We are also right across
the way from the "Common" - a beautiful park with walking
and cycling trails. Across the street from our home is the Rand Estate,
now a school of philosophy. Next door to it is the home of celebrated
artist Trisha Romance.
Our "estate",
be it ever so humble, is lovely in our eyes with more than 50 trees
and a large cottage garden which Judy meticulously maintains. As an
avid member of the NOTL horticultural society, gardening is an important
hobby and our home has been featured on garden tours.

garden. Our breakfast consists of fresh juices, locally grown fruit
(in season), home baked goods and a savoury dish. All our recipes are

9am. On nice mornings, we serve breakfast on our screened-in porch.
LOCAL ATTRACTIONS
If you are not off
exploring, enjoying the Spa at the Pillar & Post, at The Shaw Theatre
or Casino Niagara and you just want to veg out and relax - consider
curling up with a book under a tree by the pond in our garden or relax
on the screened-in porch. If the weather lets you down, there is a common
area inside with a fireplace and cable TV.
For the more energetic,
rent a bike or moped and explore historic areas. Take a conducted bike
tour of the wineries with former Tour de France champion Steve Bauer.
Want more excitement? Try a helicopter or airplane tour of the Falls
and surrounding area or live on the wild side and take the Jet Boat
ride up the Niagara River to the Whirlpool. Guaranteed to "wet"
your appetite
.pun intended!
