Bonnybank Bed and Breakfast is in a 1919 American Tudor Revival home made of red Grimsby sandstone, reclaimed from the nearby Grand Trunk Railway piers.

We’re 3 minutes away from Jordan Village and 20 minutes away from Niagara Falls. Enjoy our tangled Carolinian habitat, next door to a private owl sanctuary with 200 owls. Access the Twenty Mile Creek ANSI (Area of Natural Scientific Interest) in our kayaks and photograph song birds, marsh inhabitants and rare Carolinian plants. Or, you can birdwatch and poke around our yard to discover Carolinian plant and animal species.

Hike or bike along our private line beside peach & pear orchards to the Lake Ontario Waterfront Trail, leading to the Niagara Escarpment and Conservation Areas.

Need to relax? Wander and putter in our organic vegetable, perennial, shrub and herb gardens. Relax on the stone terrace while the moon sails by, or starwatch by a campfire. Watch for the 2 Great Horned Owls that fly in at dusk to sing to the owls in the sanctuary!

Your host is Carla Carlson, Horticulturist and past president of a local field naturalist club. She is also the owner of Niagara Nature Tours, rated as one of the top ecotour companies in Canada by the Canadian Tourism Commission.

Bonnybank is not your “average” bed and breakfast. You’ll enjoy true seclusion in a wonderfully natural area of the Niagara peninsula yet be minutes away from all the attractions Niagara has to offer.

With respect to rooms, we have three available. Room pricing per night is between $95~$125. Click here for more details.

Breakfasts are varied – have a full breakfast or just a continental. Need vegetarian cuisine? No problem. Most of our menu is organic as well.

Here are a few kind words from guests.

“My girlfriend and I stayed at Bonnybank B&B in late September and had a truly wonderful time. We were looking to get out of Toronto for a few days, enjoy a few Niagara vineyards and enjoy some of the natural beauty of the escarpment. The location of the B&B relative to the highway made it a convenient spot to use as a jump off point for daily excursions, but was also secluded enough to give that truly ‘country-style’ feel. The owl sanctuary next door made for some beautiful music at night and a great spot to visit. We were lucky enough to be there during the ‘patrons weekend’ at which time they give a full tour of the property.

Carla, our hostess and the owner/operator of the B&B, was remarkable. She was exceptionally sweet, attentive and knowledgable about the area – particularly its geological history and ecology. As two ‘green enthusiasts’ we felt right at home. Her meals were simple, but fantastic as well.

All in all, we had a great time and highly recommend Carla’s venue for anyone looking to enjoy the natural beauty of the escarpment.”

James C., Toronto

“As I walked up to the house, the image of George Harrison on the cover of All Things Must Pass came to mind. Surely this was where they took that cover photo! You will be hard pressed to find a more interesting B&B. The house has its own story, and it is located right next to an owl preserve. The Village of Jordan is cool, and the B&B is near dozens of wineries. Carla shares lots of ideas about trips you can take from Niagara to Lake Ontario and Lake Erie. She makes a good breakfast, too! We really enjoyed our three days and nights there. It is a good anchor spot to explore Ontario.”

Doug, Columbus, IA

“When my wife, our infant son, and I spent two days in the Niagara area, we had the good fortune of staying at the Bonnybank B&B where our hostess Carla made the visit a delight. The room, the house and the area had a nice homely feel to it. But it was especially Carla’s who made it something special. It’s seems that there is nothing she wont do for you. Breakfast included a wide variety of foods and was served with a view over the beautiful winter garden where birds an squirrels came to feed.

We were there in January, and I’m glad that we went in the wintertime. Niagara Falls was definitely not the tourist trap that it can be in the summertime.”
